We are seeking an experienced Network & Systems Administrator to oversee the maintenance and support of our IT infrastructure. This role requires a hands-on professional with a broad technical skill set, capable of managing servers, networks, and end-user devices in a dynamic, multi-user environment.

This is an on-site position in Jericho, NY - Long Island. 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and monitor all IT systems to ensure optimal performance and security
  • Conduct and maintain a full hardware and software inventory
  • Manage and apply Windows OS and security updates across all endpoints
  • Provide support for LAN and WAN environments, including troubleshooting and basic network configuration
  • Set up, configure, and deploy new hardware and devices on a recurring lifecycle schedule
  • Manage a server environment that includes: 6 physical servers and Virtual machines hosted via Proxmox
  • Ensure stability and availability of all critical IT systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
  • Provide general user support and respond to technical issues as needed
  • Support organization-specific digital platforms and web-based services (e.g., online resources, streaming services, database access)
  • Document procedures and contribute to the development of best practices

Requirements:

  • 5–7 years of IT experience, including at least 3 years in network or systems administration
  • Proficiency with Windows Server environments and client OS updates
  • Hands-on experience with LAN/WAN support, including routing/switching basics
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (Proxmox preferred; VMware or Hyper-V acceptable)
  • Experience deploying and maintaining end-user devices in an organizational setting
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and best practices
  • Willingness to support web-based and digital service platforms used by the organization’s patrons or customers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Experience supporting public-facing systems or digital content platforms
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft certifications)
