We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior IBM Developer with a strong background in RPG coding to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience in RPG development, along with expertise in the VAI System 2000 platform, database administration, and reporting/analytics. Experience with VAI Warehouse Management Systems and analytics reporting is a plus. This role is integral to developing and supporting critical systems within the manufacturing and distribution industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain IBM RPG-based applications and systems for various business functions.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior developers, ensuring high-quality code and efficient development processes.
  • Implement and optimize applications on the VAI System 2000 platform, ensuring system integration and performance.
  • Oversee and participate in database administration tasks, including the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of databases (primarily SQL).
  • Develop and maintain reporting and analytics solutions for business stakeholders, including custom reports and data extraction tools.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver software solutions that meet business needs.
  • Continuously improve system functionality and performance, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Guide best practices and ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Support the manufacturing and distribution operations with software solutions that enhance business processes.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IBM RPG development including RPGLE, RPGSQL,  CL (Control Language)
  • Strong expertise in VAI System 2000 platform.
  • Proven experience in database administration (DB2, SQL) and optimization.
  • Solid understanding of reporting and analytics development, including custom reports and data extraction.
  • Deep knowledge of the manufacturing and distribution industry, with the ability to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize applications and systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership within the team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with the VAI System 2000 solution including CRM, Warehouse Management Platform and Analytics packages
  • Familiarity with advanced reporting and analytics tools and frameworks.
  • Experience with additional programming languages or platforms (e.g., Java, Python) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific best practices for software development and system integration in the manufacturing and distribution sectors.
